Lawrence Green
Lawrence Green has more than 25 years of experience as a lobbyist and a trade association executive in the financial, real estate and insurance industries with responsibility for major legal, legislative and regulatory programs. Prior to joining BGK Strategies LLC, he served as the Executive Vice President and Counsel for the California Land Title Association. Green received both his undergraduate degree (1972) and Juris Doctor degree (1975) from the University of California, Davis. He is an active member of the State Bar of California and an inactive member of the State Bar of Texas. Green is a member of the Real Property Law Section of the California State Bar and is the author of several articles relating to real property and title insurance. Representing trade associations, Green created government relations and communications strategies and served as a spokesman to the media. He has testified before the California State Legislature and commented on proposed regulations to state agencies and the California Office of Administrative Law. Green has also worked with the Department of Real Estate on subdivision issues; the Senate Local Government Committee on the Subdivision Map Act Task Force; the Business, Transportation and Housing Agency on escrow and housing issues and the Department of Insurance on a variety of title and escrow issues. From 1988 to 1998, Green served on the Board of Directors of First Security Thrift in Orange County. In 1998, Green joined the Board of Orange County Bancorp and its subsidiary Centennial Bank until the companies were acquired in 2003. While on the Board, he was Chairman of the Compensation Committee and served as a member of both the Loan and Audit Committees. |
